Scrap Black History Month?

Black History Month (October).

Why do we need a full month to celebrate a race?

It all seems a bit xenophobic to me. October, could and should be put to much better use. Why don't we stop celebrating a single race and go global?

We could replace Black History Month, with Commonwealth History Month?

Thus, celebrating every race the world has to offer and at the same time learning from the mistakes and triumphs of the past. We should all respect the past, and look forward to a future of unity.

Having segregated organisations and celebratory months, in my opinion, only encourages division. We, as a nation, should be looking at better ways of integrating, a nation divided by culture and race, is a cracked idea that will eventually shatter.

We must avoid the shattering and come together as a colorblind empire and celebrate each other through the Commonwealth.

Just a thought!
